PAAI Training Scholarships

The PAAI offers annual scholarships designed to support the professional development of fire investigation experts within Pennsylvania. These awards are overseen by the Awards Committee and require final approval from the Executive Board and Regional Directors.

What the Scholarships Are Used For

The primary goal of these scholarships is to offset the costs of specialized fire investigation training. Based on the application form, funds are typically applied toward:

The Jack Christmas Training:

A specific PAAI-sponsored educational event.

The Annual Training Conference:

The association’s annual seminar.

Professional Certification:

Helping investigators maintain or achieve credentials such as IAAI-CFI, IAAI-FIT, or NAFI-CFEI.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for a scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

Membership

You must be a member in good standing with the Pennsylvania Association of Arson Investigators.

Employment Status

Applicants can be Full-Time, Part-Time, Volunteer, Student, or Retired, provided they are active in the fire investigation community.

Need-Based Consideration:

The committee looks at whether the applicant’s current employer provides “Company Paid Training” as part of the evaluation process.
